EDIT: I SOLVED IT!
Posting this for future reference for anyone else trying to do the same thing (and for myself in case I overwrite the file.).
I remembered that I did a similar edit to the newpoints shop that allows me to put in HTML into the shop items (which required an edit to the newpoints php files)... but here's what the code needed to be.

I did install that Xthreads plugin though. Very useful.
