I'm not not able to access site.

Getting error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/billspet/public_html/mybb/inc/functions.php on line 6560

It's been ages since I upgraded and I can't even recall how to see line numbers
Hi,

I am from the Softaculous team.
Which PHP version are you using ?
Can you please open a support ticket with us we will check it for you.
PHP version is 5.3.23

How do I open a support ticket?
PHP 5.3 is kinda old and only gets very critical updates, no bug fixes or anything like that. http://php.net/releases/5_3_20.php

As for Softaculous, I'd advise you just manually update as updating version to version is very simple and only takes around 10 minutes to do it properly, and you'll know it's done correctly.

You can read on upgrading here: http://docs.mybb.com/Upgrading.html
so to fix this problem, should I download my old 1.6.9 and upload to server/unzip and then get control of MYBB there so I can then restore from a backup?

I'd recommend pulling the last recent backup of your MyBB files/MySQL database, restoring those, and then manually upgrading. I'd also keep the most recent backups too with the problem still existent just in case Softaculous wasn't the issue.

Hi,

You can open a support ticket with us here :

manual installation would be better than softaculous. you can re-install any file at any time by manual and its pretty easy too.
