I'm just trying to figure out the best ways of using the myBB groups.

From what I understand you can create group as admin and then set permissions for users to join.

When they join a group what can they do next? Can users that have permission see all the members in that group in a list?

Can the group have a private forum for discussing group related subjects?

Can users create their own groups and be the owners or are groups only something admin can create?

It would be good to get an understanding on the best practice ways to use the group functionality.

Also are there any good plugins related to groups?

Usergroups are designed to be permission based. What I think you want is my Social Groups plugin.

Do you have an example of this working or any screenshots?

I see it was last updated on 18th June - what were the core updates?

Does it now let you upload an image for the group?

I don't yet have uploading group images done. I last updated it just before I went on vacation. Most of the updates were fixing database collation problems that sometimes occurred or permission issues.

Is it possible to view a list of members of a group, apparently you can with the View Groups plugin but i cannot find any screen shots - does it display like the memberlist?

With my plugin it does list the members in each group. I don't have a live demo on an active forum though.
