No. MyBB 2.0 will have it afaik. You will have to use a plugin for now.

A lot of people have been saying they have had problems with that profile comments plugin. Is there another one more stable?
I don't have any problems with it except a few small template/code issues which were easy to fix.
I think there will be a new version after 1.8 will be released

Great, I'll install the one for 1.6, and hopefully someone or the original owner will code a newer one for 1.8.
