Burning Board implemented partial quotes as a standard feature. I was a beta tester, and I liked the way it worked. Just don't ask me to describe it in detail, it's been awhile.

Partial quotes is a standard feature amongst boards that are attempting to make modern bb scripts. I think it would be great in 1.8. But that's unlikely. It should be standard in 2.

Partial quotes are very requested on my boards because we have topics with very long contents and editing the whole quote is a pain.

I think a plugin for this feature for Sceditor would be fine, such leaving it to the admin choice if he wants it or not.

I think this should be added in 1.8 2.0 is years away.

agreed. most people only reply to part of a quote anyway, so having the entire quote there is more often times than not useless.

one problem this plugin only work with default editor of 1.6.
Not work with plugin Sceditor and not work with Mybb 1.8 that use Sceditor and Jquery.

I already tried to convert the jscript (prototype to jquery) to make it work with SCEditor but i don't gotten success...

Convert to jQuery is not a problem because we can edit the js file.

But Is it really necessary?

I don't get why this shouldn't be core. It's a very basic feature that many software have by default.
