You can fork it but you can't sell it. If you fork it you must release it under the same license MyBB does.
You can sell mods/plugins and services such as hosting though just as long as the software itself is free and open source.

I think that GPL/LGPL actually allows you to sell a forked project.. It's not forbidden at least. But you have to stay with open source LGPL license and respect it.

Yes, you can ship GPL code in propitiatory projects, but need to either include the code or offer a copy of the code to users: http://gpl-violations.org/faq/vendor-faq.html
