If I optimize the database within the Admin CP will my forum speed up at all?

Searching on the forum etc goes very slowly.

Its worth a try... Usually if it's slow at loading its the MySQL server. May want to contact your host if you feel it's really bad.

Not really. Usually you don't notice the difference.
