I'd like to limit staff powers.
I don't want staff or mods to be able to delete posts, threads or rep.
Also is there a way to remove ability to delete a thread and post for users after X time?

Can I remove post rep but leave profile rep?
You can modify the moderator usergroup under ACP >> Users & Groups >> User Groups
Then just change the permissions they have, or do this at a forum by forum level
you can't disable the delete permissions globally. You have to do it per forum wise. or you can try this:

regarding removing post rep, you can remove the rep button from the postbit or postbit_classic template... you need to remove this: {$post['button_rep']}

No, I want their ability to delete other peoples posts removed altogether.

yes. I thought you want to remove only the button... If you want to completely disable that feature, you can turn it off from "Reputation" settings by " Allow Post Reputations" to NO
