I'm trying to get the PM Log set up on my server, but it has a file that I don't recognize.... "git"

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me where that goes exactly?

Leave it where it is, in the zip. You don't need it, those are internal files from the developer. Just do use only all the .php files as usually.
