The email button does not send out.
I get an email when there is a private message however.

I have mail set to php
Do I need an outside smtp account?
or should the mail service be part of the host server and should I get ahold of the host?
I don't know how php mail works so I am lost there.

If you're using the PHP mail function then you shouldn't need to use SMTP.

What email button are you referring to exactly?

Have you tried via SMTP, does that work?

The email from a user profile or the email button from a users post. Neither will send email.

One user reported to me that the lost password did not work and she did not get it in the email.

I tried setting up an smtp with a gmail acct. It does the same thing as it does with the php, and says the "mail was sent successfully"
but it doesn't go through to the recipient.
