Seems we're getting closer to the 1.8 official release it's exciting somehow  

Would all the plugins on the mod site get deleted if they're not 1.8-compatible? How do you intend on supporting 1.8 on that site?

Cuz there are plugins that have been there for a while (last updated in 2009/2010/2011/2012).

I'm not sure this has been 100% agreed on. There has been a lot of internal discussion. Remember that we are also introducing a new version of the mods site for 1.8 too (which will be unveiled soon).

We will release our new mods site with the release of 1.8. All old plugins will still be available (for some time) on the old mods site but the author needs to put them themselves on the new one.

The new mods website will accept only 1.8 compatible plugins.

It will be better that way as current way too cluttered up so long as there's a decent search system with the new mods site.
