When tagging someone it doesn't display their suername in text form instead it does stuff like:

[url=http://MYSITE/member.php?action=profile&uid=2]@aaron[/url]

are you referring to issue on MyBB 1.6.x or 1.8 testing version ?

That is how that plug-in works.

So it's not supposed to be something like @aaron ???

it is supposed to be like @aaronnz on MyBB 1.6.x forums.
plugins coded for MyBB 1.6.x might not work without code changes on MyBB 1.8

Edit: most probably MentionMe for MyAlerts will be updated soon to work on MyBB 1.8
