Are you saying that you would want the user with the highest rep to be displayed on the stats page (http://community.mybb.com/stats.php) or not?
I highly doubt it would happen for 1.8.0 but maybe for something else.

Wouldn't it be feasible with a plugin? As it's basically just a SQL query and an echo.
