Since I don't have admin permissions to reply and post on closed threads, the edit button on my posts should probably disappear.  

When I use quick edit, rather than blocking my edit I see what is in the attached image.  

Hitting save then puts my old message back in and puts an error message popup on the top right, which isn't horrid. 

This is pretty low level since nothing bad really happens.

Its on Chrome 36 something.

The bump was only for me to test it - I'm very sure that there is an issue but I still need to test it and it shouldn't depend on the browser. But as this isn't urgent this will likely not fixed in 1.8.0
