Everytime I try to modify the css, it doesn't work. For example, in simple mode, I can modify .thead and click save. But when I go to Advanced mode, thead is no where to be found and the forum doesn't update anyways. How can I fix this?

Not quite true, It is there.
But if its 'out of screen'
you cant find it with browsers search option, - you must scroll manually to find it.
