Hey,

I have been messing around with the two invite plugins available. Unfortunately they are not really what I am looking for.

What I want is:

• Only admins can send out invites
  
• The board shows: "This forum is private and only people with an invitation code can register."
  
• When they click "Register" they see a page that requires an invite code.
  
• If the code is correct, they can then proceed to the sign up page.
  

Does something like that exists? Eventually paid?

can we know which plugins you have tried - I'd seen Invitation System only
I do not recall seeing any other plugin which suits your requirements ..

I have tried this one: http://mods.mybb.com/view/invitation-system but members can send invites, which I do not want. I want that only admins can do so.

This one I tried, too: http://mods.mybb.com/view/advanced-invitations-system it is very advanced, but can't find a feature to disable users from inviting too. + I don't know how I can force guests to type the invite code first before being able to see the register page (if that is possible of course).

You can create a plugin to disable Advanced Invitations System to certain groups (UCP side), Invitation System seems to already support permissions for groups.

With Advanced Invitations System you can probably use MyPermissions.

I'm going to check out the mypermissions plugin for the basic invite mod. It unfortunately doesn't support permissions.. thanks for the help

Are these plugins available somewhere? all links are dead

^ those plugins were coded for older versions of MyBB and those are not available at present.
I do not remember seeing any invitation related plugin coded for MyBB 1.8.x
