Hello guys i have added a test site for my forum, with new 1.8 version.
I started installing the software, though the lock file is in its place, i completed my installation.
May not be a major bug, but still wanted to report the error faced.

So when you install/upgrade the lock file is correctly created in the install directory? Or is it there but the installer doesn't lock?
Yes, there is lock file in place within install folder of package but still i can install the script.

Are you sure it's just called 'lock'? The check for this file hasn't changed and works fine for me.
Yes bro its "lock" and i have not modified any file names or files from package, just uploaded everything and finished the install. simple and straight.
And you can still get to the actual installer? Printscreen your ./install/ folder from your FTP client?
It may be that the MyBB Dev Mode is enabled. If it is enabled the installer ignores the lock file and allows access to the installer. The Dev Mode should not be enabled on a production forum.
