what else should be there, because i have replaced all old with the 1.8 ones.
This worked for me on my test forum
Remove the entire admin folder (and replace it with the ones from the mybb install files)
Then re upload the install folder,
and then go to
www.yoursite.com/install and re upgrade it.
And then your admin cp is working as it should be.
