I've done a fresh install of 1.8 and all seems fine, except when I click on any thread or user I get a blank page.
Things like Admin CP, user CP, member list etc work perfectly.
Any ideas?
can you check server error log available at web host control panel to find the cause ..
and can we have your forum url
^ there is a htaccess.txt file in your forum folder (files server) - rename it to .htaccess (there is a dot at the beginning)
or log into admin panel , navigate to Configuration >> Server and Optimization Options
there the first option is Enable search engine friendly URLs - set it to Automatic Detection & save the settings
Ok, I've renamed htaccess. Enable search engine friendly URLs is already set to Automatic Detection. I'm still getting this issue, would it take time to take effect?

hmm, if I disable search engine friendly URLs, everything works. I'd definitely like to have it the other way though, any ideas how to fix that?
