It will be a while before I update to 1.8. My forum relies on too many plugins to run as I need it to and I don't see them getting updated to be compatible with 1.8 for a long time to come, if ever.
Regardless, I'm curious if Just will be updating his Apart series to 1.8?
not sure. MyBB 1.8 default theme itself is based on Apart series.
Apart 1.6 users should be able to upgrade earlier theme without much difficulty by updating the templates.

You can either revert these templates to their default - meaning all the changes you've made to it will be removed - or you can see a Diff Report which will show you exactly what's changed. If you have a custom theme installed, it is probably best that you look at the Diff Report and apply the changes you need.
Are colors of 1.8 default easily configurable? I believe I remember reading something about that, but not sure now.
