i have been contacted that new users cannot register

They get this message where they want to register

"Our systems detect that you may be a spammer and
therefore you have been denied registration. If you
feel this is a mistake, please contact the
Administrator."

how do i fix this

admin panel >> configuration >> settings >> Stop Forum Spam --> Check Registrations Against StopForumSpam.com?
--> set to No & save settings

there is a bug related to it and will be fixed in a forthcoming release of MyBB
