Near the top of the plugin file (will be in the inc/plugins folder), there should be the following line. You can try changing the 16* to 18* and see if that works. As the plugin wasn't designed for 1.8, there is no real guarantee that this will work, but it will allow MyBB to attempt to install the plugin.
