So in the process of upgrading my local copy of our mybb instance from 1.6.5 to 1.8. 
Took forum offline, deactivated plugins.
During the upgrade I'm prompted for the admin username and password, I enter them in but the same screen keeps repeatedly loading without any error messages or additional prompts. 

Any thoughts?

It's local to my machine, not on an outside facing server unfortunately.
