this happend to me , i installed a 1.8 theme and everything looked fine after that if you have upgraded from 1.6 to 1.8 it takes time to sort its self out usually .... as when i upgraded it still had a 1.6 look admin panel but after an hour it changed to 1.8 not sure why ... hope it explains abit of the problem ... try a theme from

I just tried to install a new theme, same thing. And i did not upgrade i am new to MyBB and this is my first time. I just got it today.
hmmm thats strange it shouldnt be like that with all themes , i like to give it time to settle in before i go into it all if its still same tomorrow reply to this thread and mybb staff will help you

forgot to mention , make sure if your installing themes you read the installation txt file if there is one its pritty easy to install themes so if you get stuck just pm me ill be happy to help out

I just found out there was a fix for it in the documentation support section, but it still does not work.
