just a thought ... mybb parses the templates before it renders the page so any variable ( eg {$welcomblock} ) could be added to any html .. the {$welcomeblock} variable can contain other templates which in turn can contain more variables ... if you read the html flow of the document your answer will be there

I have figured this is out and since I can't get any support, i'll figure it out myself.

you can use template conditionals plugin to show required links to the specific groups
