I have a 1.6.8 Forum with alot of users and posts ...
when i try to upgrade at third part of upgrading I got a problem !
and thats like this :

what should I do ... A person told me: "u can upgrade in localhost and then uplaod that in ur hosting"
and I saw this thread :

I'd recommend upgrading on local web server (eg. XAMPP server) and uploading to web server
my database size over thn 2Gigabuyte ...
I have to download and the UPLOAD that ... and its depend of working or don't working !
it maybe i download it and i cant fix it with xampp !

at present I'd suggest to upgrade to MyBB 1.6.15
U mean I should upgrade to 1.6.15 and then to 1.8 ?
But there is a bad problem ... I extract the 1.8 package on my files!
if I extract 1.6.15 on it again , its will be ok to upgrade to 1.6.15?
you can use MyBB 1.6.15 files pack (over 1.8) and upgrade to this 1.6.15 version.
at present I am not suggesting to upgrade to 1.8
we design a perfect 1.8 template with some price and we want to use 1.8 actually

It should be fine upgrading to MyBB 1.8, the dev team members have made thorough testings on the software before releasing it.
Did you disable ALL the plugin before upgrading?
Did you back up your database and files in case of an early halloween prank from MyBB 1.8's upgrade tool?

absolutely ... I think it was a problem in upgrade part of package !!
coz , I see some big forums which upgraded carefully , but in our forum (and some other forums like us) we got some problems
by the way , we upgrade to 1.6.15 and set our theme with 1.6 with 3 hours work !
But me and many users of mybb have this problem ... it should be solved
