I would suggest to remove the captcha. Do this by: Going into Admin CP > Configuration > Login and Registration Options > Display a hidden CAPTCHA > No.
Probably because you're using free hosting. If forums get large they can be very usage consuming & no free hosting provider wants that.

I tried that, it still doesn't remove the captcha :/
Browse your ACP, and navigate to General Configuration, set CAPTCHA Images for Registration & Posting to No Captcha.
I had this same problem, the captcha worked originally but then stopped. Instead of messing with it I went with the "are you human" captcha. It has worked flawlessly now with no issues.
I wonder what made the original one stop working but since other option are available it was not a worry.
Also I have not had one instance of a spammer registering with the Are you human captcha.
Like Wires said, do that!
