Hello,

I have just used the merge tool to import my forum from SMF2.07 to MyBB. Seems to have gone alright, except I now have '?' signs through out the posts:

Example: http://frostmourne.co.uk/mybb/showthread.php?tid=76

I unchecked the 'use UTF' encoding option, as the first time around, when the option was selected, posts well full of weird 'A's.

I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on the issue.

What was the correct sign shown in your original board?

Also are you sure you set the correct encoding for your old database?

Hmm, created another mybb install - ran another import using utf8 and the convert all messages to UTF and now everything appears in order.

Not sure what I've done wrong before but well :p
