I'm interesting in moving from IP.Board to MyBB.

I wonder if there are some alternative ways to merge them togheter? any beta releases? I notice the current merge system is for 1.6!

Installing 1.6, then merging it to 1.6.. then install 1.8? How would that work? lol

Also noticed that the permissions for the forums were not set, is this normal? lol

I don't know of any issues with the utf-8 convertion, have you tried with "Automatically convert messages" to off?

What exactly do you mean? It's not possible to copy all permissions as some are different between IPB and MyBB but most should be merged.

2. I tried to disable and enable it, the issue occurs. It might be because of that html error?
3. Not a single permission from my forum got set, simple permissons like "Can member view this forum". My staff forum got public, thanks lord it was just private testing link though.

2: Yep, well it must be. I have members using symbols.. How would I check? I have phpMyAdmin.. I checked it, and crap.. it's using latin swedish for some reason lol.. I didn't know utf-8 symbols would work with it.

Can you try to select latin then on the merge system? Note that all tables can have a different encoding than the database itself. Important is the "posts" table.

When merging, i selected 7bit swedish (I found nothing named Latin). It then converted all icons into ???, such as UTF-8 star.



I can't really tell if thats latina or utf-8 lol. I were pretty sure it's UTF-8 since I have stars and such in topic titles.
