Where, please, is config.default.php? Thank you.
It should be in the /inc/ folder.
Thank you. I found it. But how do I rename it? When I right click, there is no option to rename it on Windows.

Got it. Sorry for the n00b questions.
Suggestion.

"It should be in the /inc/ folder."
This answer was given 9 years ago. Why not add it to the installation instructions (https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/install/)?

It is frustrating when "complete installation instructions" aren't complete. I'll edit it myself, if you tell me where the master file is and give me permission.

Even though this is a very old topic, you do realise the location of inc/config.php is listed multiple times in the help document you specified? We can lead users to the help documents but we can't force them to read it. Nonetheless, I've made a pull request with the change to the document - https://github.com/mybb/docs.mybb.com/pull/172

That would be great, thanks! Docs are publicly editable via Pull Request on GitHub. The documentation in question appears to be here: https://github.com/mybb/docs.mybb.com/bl...l/index.md
Wires, thank you for the change. It is good to make every installation instruction can be followed, in order, rather than assuming that everyone is equally skilled in problem-solving.
Thanks for the PR. I went ahead and merged this.
I am very impressed with MyBB's responsiveness. I can't think offhand of its equal!
Great to hear David. We all do our best but granted at times things can be a bit slow!
