I want to create notification bars with specific content for certain user groups.

In addition where/how can I edit the new member registration redirect to redirect them to a specific page other then the default one set?

You can use this plugin to create Announcements, which you can customize to certain usergroups, and on certain pages. It's a really good plugin to have and use.

As for the registration, do you mean before or after they register?

after they register, the thank you for registration and it redirects you.
