Hi. I have successfully installed MyBB 1.8 and have set up/changed some of the configuration settings.

The forum is for a closed community and we need to stop just anyone from registering. There my be other ways of doing this but the one that comes to mind is that registrations need to be approved by an admin before being given access to the forum. Is this possible - and how?

ACP->Config->Registration Settings. Set to Admin Approval.
