I'm missing the text editor and when clicking "get more" smilies, nothing happens.  This occurs in all templates except for the one I recreated from default.  Did some research and it seems this happens in the headerinclude template, but I can't find any of the solutions that worked for others working for me.

This is the headerinclude file in the templates not working.

The only way you can get it working is ... Installing a 1.8 compatible theme. If you install any compatible theme, you will see that editor and smilies will be back.

Those themes are 1.8 compatible. They are on the 1.8 mybb theme site.

Well, the 1st headerinclude is just a pure mess. Replace it with:

Also, remove the 1st noConflict line from jscripts/myalerts.js and possibly also like_system.min.js

Replace info provided above did not work. With or without the like_system.min.js . I didn't see any noconfilcts in the code that was provided. Please advise.

After removing all things my alerts in the header include file, my smilies and text editor began working again.

oh you install notifications alert before ur editor is missing...
my problem is not like u, iam not install myalert plugin, they missing after i change the template ^_^

They went missing after alerts install. But the problem was definitely in the headerinclude file. You may be experiencing a different conflict there. I'm not experienced enough to offer more help than what worked for me, but I think that is where your problem lies; conflicts in the headerinclude file.

I know this thread is a bit old, but just wanted to thank the OP for sending me in the right direction. While editing the headerinclude file to add a few og objects I must have removed a comment end code. I was wondering why my "get more" link in the editor didn't work anymore for the smilies. Well, thanks to this thread I found my mistake and now they work. So, the problem was, indeed, in the "headerinclude" template.
