It use its own template. It is doesn't matter if portal is turned on or off.

how to edit to jump to unread post instead of thread link?

I tryed to add &action=newpost without sucess...

In the Global templates, in the template index_sidebar_post, change the link to:

<a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/showthread.php?tid={$tid}&amp;action=newpost">

I dont know why it doesn't work for you. It works for me.

Nice, however it creates a new sidebar for me when I use it. Like, it doens't use the default sidebar position.. how can i edit this?
