Hello,

I'm looking for a way to prevent smilies "spamming"...
I don't know if a plugin is necessary or just make a little modification ?

I would like to do this:
-Allowed a maximum of 4 smileys/post (or allow 1 smiley / for each 50 characters in the posts for exemple but more difficult to do)
-Prohibit filing a series of smiley (like this   )

Yes, i'm looking for a plugin a mod to do this

My website is a forum where referencing free contest (promotional game to win price) and lot of users use smilies to say "thank" to the posters .
So i have install a thank plugin mod and forbid post with minus of 20 characters thinking that would solve the problem...
But users send "series of thanks smiley" now instead of 1....grrrr

^ yes, sometimes regular users also put a series of smilies. if a plugin is not used then manual edit might be necessary.
at present I do not recall seeing such plugin.

No problem...I would do without and delete few spammer if they don't understand^^

Maybe you shouldn't have a "thanks" smiley if you don't want people to use it...?

Adding a smiley limit (in 1.8) might require more effort than it's worth.
