I've noticed 1.8 now sends out the whole of a PM in an Email, I've looked around but cant find a way of doing the following.

#1 Is there a way of sending an excerpt of the message (restricting the amount of characters) sent out instead of the whole PM like in the email for new post notifications ?

#2 Is it possible to give users the option to still get an Email notification of a PM but without any content. ?

#2 in general, users do not want to deny such a facility!
however that should be possible by using a plugin / code changes in files.

Thank you .M. Just what I was looking for.

Yes most users want it, and it's something I've wanted a long time. But I think having the whole message in the Email is to much if it's a long one. I've followed those instructions and set it to 100.

As for members being able to not get content in the Email, it's no big deal I was only asking as I'm sure to get someone ask me.
