MyBB Community Forums

Full Version: Accessing threads is really slow
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
We have a new forum up and everything works great except when accessing any threads. Everything else we click on is quick and snappy to respond and produce a page but any threads we access can take up to 45 seconds to load.

I've attached an image with the detailed debugging info.
So nothing from anybody huh? Not even any questions on configuration, where to start?
please post forum url and wait for someone to check
http://forums.caris.com

I'll setup a temporary admin user and password.

Thanks
Loads almost instantly for me.
Hi,

So I've now created for our new forum it's own Apache instance and windows service as well as moving it's directories and files to the document root on the server. The url can be accessed by pointing the browser to forums.caris.com and the '/forums/' no longer appears in the address. This already has resulted in some improvements in performance. But after some additional testing we found this:

When a guest gets on the site and clicks to view one of our public threads, for example - http://forums.caris.com/showthread.php?tid=1119, the thread loads almost instantly. But when a logged in user accesses the same thread, it can take anywhere from 9 to 15 seconds to load.

Any additional advise as where to go from here?

Thank you
Turned off quickreply in showthread settings and that fixed it, no idea why. That means that a code from here was slowing it down: https://github.com/mybb/mybb/blob/featur...L1164-1224 My guess for culprit would be the $posthash line.

Also, you should update MyBB.

Fantastic! Thanks so much.

I'm in the process of testing the upgrade in our test environment.

Much appreciated.
