When i change sub-forum orders (not main forum) i change them save them but the orders won't save everytime it goes all goes back to order 1. This started happening when i upgraded to 1.2.3

If you are using subforums in columns plugin then this is a normal behaviour with the plugin activated.

is there any way to prevnt it as i need to have a catagory with no forums and a subforum under the labled catagory

No way till now... unfortunately...
