Anyone experiencing that if a user gets the captcha wrong once then they really can't pass it without refreshing the page and doing it right on the first try only?
Additionally, are these captchas and questions easy to bypass as they tell the user immediately if they are right or wrong to proceed???

It's a bug which will most likely be fixed in 1.8.4 together with 2 other registration issues:

Bypassed by who? Users are supposed to answer them easily... They are a security measure against spambots which don't really care about the status.
@destroy666 the captcha seems to verify itself in the page as the user exits the field.

Yes, it's the JS validation.
