Hope everyone's doing well! 

I tried setting up MyBB with "pretty URLs", but received a 500 error.  Right now, I'm not sure if it's just a problem with my server configuration or something else.  Without .htaccess, the site functions fine, but once I rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess, I receive the Internal Server Error message.  I thought it was a problem with the other configs in the .htaccess, but even with just the rewrite rules, it gives a Internal Server Error.  

If it helps, I'm also using VestaCP on Ubuntu 14.04.  Any help is appreciated!

I'm no expert on Ubuntu, but I think that .htaccess files don't work with it, or that it takes a bit of wizardry to get .htaccess files to work with it.
