Hi there, I want to introduce my first MyBB Plugin:

MinifyHTML
This simple plugin compresses the outgoing html code of forum site by removing unnecessary line breaks.

Plugin ignores content in textarea, pre and script tags.
It doesn't removes inline javascript codes or template comments.

Installation:

• Download & unzip package
  
• Copy content from "UPLOAD" folder to the forum root on server
  
• Activate the plugn in ACP
  
• Check the plugin settings in configuration
  

This plugin offers full language support.
The basic package contains english and german language files.

I think this should in core like as minifying stylesheets which would help to reduce the html content size and fasten the load speed.

Yes, that's also my opinion. This function could give your site a better SEO score.

The problem with minifying HTML is that it can very easy break layouts and themes where whitespace is used for formatting and layout.

Do you know an example theme where is using white-space for layout? I would check my plugin with that kind of themes.

I do not know of any example 1.8 themes, but there was a similar plugin for 1.6 that broke a few themes and I created a XenForo plugin that did the same that also had the same problem.

Plugin updated to MinifyHTML v.1.3....

great what about JS and CSS

mybb 1.8 has an integrated function to minify css files.

i dont see that in the browser......if its minifying, its not combining them together
