I'm not entirely sure about those. I have two themes (from 1.6) and they're both the same. I tried removing $.noConflict(); and it barely makes a difference.

Edit: you have mentioned that two themes belong to MyBB version 1.6.x
they are not compatible with MyBB 1.8.x and there is no easy method to update them.
