Full Version: Can I use my existing theme as a template?

I have a mybb 1.6 forum which has quite a few plugins and I would like to change the theme a couple of times a year (such as Christmas and Easter). Unfortunately, the themes I have found do not look good due to them not taking some of these plugins into consideration (which is fair enough).

Is there anyway I can save my existing theme as a NEW theme and do my own alterations to it so that all my plugins ill work correctly on it?

Many thanks

Mike
admin panel >> Templates & Style >> themes >> create new theme
put a name for the new theme, select your required theme as Parent theme and create new theme.

admin panel >> Templates & Style >> templates >> Add Set --> put required name as title and add template set

add the new template set to the earlier created theme

you can do whatever you want in that new theme and keep earlier theme without any changes.

you can also export the theme (include templates) and import back with new name and do changes as you like
Many thanks
