I am having a lot of trouble with sending activation mail afetr regustration. I am not using PHP mail() but smtp. It shows the following error message.

I have seen several threads like this :- http://community.mybb.com/post-852178.html or http://yaldaram.com/thread-243.html

All of my settings are same still I get the same error.

In place of username do we write full mail address like [email protected] or just abc ?

I tried both and with both I am having problems.


Any help would be nice. Thank you.

obvious questions:
are you able to login to gmail account without any issues
have you checked the suggestions given at Google mail answers
