you can signup at Google WebMasters site and verify your site by uploading a simple html file provided by that site.
you can follow this guidance (external site)

you can use this plugin for the meta tags

I am not able to use the plugin right now, I was not able to upload any file into my website.
Plugin under my Admin Cpanel is not showing upload. what can I do please?
