After sorting out how to change the permissions for the forum that I am an Admin on so that Guests can only view posts or threads (whereas they could post to threads or post new threads before the changes occurred today) I am now faced with a new problem.

When clicking on some of the threads in the forum as a registered member a php error appears on the screen:

/home2/reactorb/public_html/inc/languages/english/goodbyespammer.lang.php does not exist

This is when I clicked on this thread while logged in: http://www.reactorbreach.com/showthread.php?tid=3131

Using a different browser I was able to view the above thread without any problem as a Guest.

This is happening with random threads not all of them. Some threads one can view as a registered member and some not. I cleared out my browser cache and it made no difference. This happens in whatever browser I use.

Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this?

Forum url is: http://www.reactorbreach.com/index.php

Forum version is 1.6.11

Update: When going to another thread, for instance here: http://www.reactorbreach.com/showthread....04&page=13 when clicking on the 'Next' button to go to the next page when clicking at the top or bottom of the page the next page (page 14) comes up with the error message
/home2/reactorb/public_html/inc/languages/english/goodbyespammer.lang.php does not exist

So it seems to be related to the end of a thread. I am just wondering if trolls/Guests/shills injected something into their posts to cause this problem.
have you checked whether the file physically exists at the referred location and it is readable ?
Which file are you referring to? The one that is throwing up the error message?

I do not have access to the backend of the forum at the moment (I assume you are referring to the server itself where the actual forum files reside?).

I am wondering if there is a plugin that has broken.

Hi .m.,

Thanks for posting that comment. It got me thinking.

There was a plugin called 'GoodBye spammer' and I just deactivated it.

Problems have been solved.

Obviously that plugin was at fault.

Thanks.
well, it is not fault of the plugin. one of its files viz., goodbyespammer.lang.php is missing or it is not readable
btw, your forum should be upgraded to MyBB 1.6.16 (latest security release of 1.6 series)
Ok.

Well, now that's the next step (upgrading). Smile
