right, if someone could give me a print_r output of the $post var i could get somewhere, i cant find my way round this php atm. any help would be well appreciated

Couple of things also, what is the var in the footer to get the links at the bottom:

"Contact Us | MyBB | Return to Top | Return to Content | Lite (Archive) Mode | RSS Syndication"

Or isnt there one and i have to do the links myself?
Secondly, does anyone have a template xml file that has a custom forumdisplay page, so i can use it as an example, cos i dont rly know where to start atm

You'll find the links coded at the top part of the footer.

I coded the footer myself, i know where they are, its just i wanted to know if there was a backend set of links eg {$footer['links']}

No... if you want the links to show up in another template just add <a href="...">...</a> to go where you want.

does anyone have an XML sheet we could use to have a look at how they have coded it?
