When trying to register for an account using google chrome, most people can't see the captcha and can't continue to register their account.

I know that if you turn off a blocker in chrome you can see the captcha, however this is difficult to explain to people trying to sign up to the forum.

Is there any solution out there to stop this behaviour with Chrome? Other browsers are fine.

I honestly would disable captcha. All it does is make it harder for real people to register. I'd recommend using the Registration Security Question plugin instead which is made for 1.6. You could also update to the 1.8 series and have this feature. Questions are much more difficult for bots to solve than a simple captcha.
