How exactly do I upload themes, plug ins and stuff that I normally use a FTP client to do. Would I do this in the phpMyAdmin? Or is there something I'm missing.

I never used myadmin to upload anything, I normally used a FTP client like Filezilla. I am using Xampp to host this, so any ideas? It's likely something simple.

on XAMPP server you have a folder like htdocs (you can use Explorer button on XAMPP control panel to view its folder)
if you your local MyBB forum is accessed with localhost url then htdocs is the root directory for the forum

for the themes & plugins you can copy & paste required folders and files.
