There are lot of issues when upgrade old version into 1.8. So it I am running 1.6 version on my site. Do I like to know whether 1.6 series continue to developing or stoping it.

there is no further development planned for MyBB 1.6 series

You can always get someone from here to help you out. I understand that 1.6 has it's merits but sooner or later some vulnerabilities would be spotted in it.

Use mybb 1.6.x till all the plugin available for mybb 1.8.x
